HELP SHUT DOWN ADANI & stop the Carmichael MINE

FEB 23RD - MAR 3RD

About the event

image63

From the 23rd of Feb to the 3rd of March individuals from all over the continent will converge to SHUT DOWN ADANI.

Adani have an established camp on the mining site, have illegally drilled water bores, started road works, can start building their rail line at any minute, and are still pushing the Qld state government to approve their dodgy water management plan.

If this goes through Adani will have all the approvals they need to break ground.

Australia is already the largest exporter of thermal coal globally.

We need to take radical non-violent direct action before runaway climate change heats this planet past a point where it can sustain life.

Australian law is illegitimate colonial law. Do not confuse legality with morality.

Check out the Facebook event and connect with others to carpool here.

You NEED TO REGISTER here to ensure you are sent the location.

We recognise the Traditional Owners and Custodians who looked after this land for 10’s of 1000’s of years. We acknowledge that this land was stolen from them and that sovereignty has never been ceded. We pay respect to traditional Elders past, present & emerging and acknowledge there can be no climate justice without justice for first nations people.

What's Happening?

Workshops, trainings and legal briefings will be provided to ensure we are all well equipped to take on Adani together! The Shut Down Adani campaign operates on a non-hierarchical, consensus basis, meaning we all contribute to making plans and decisions, while valuing experience. We are all in this together after all. Topics of the workshops and other activities on offer include: Non-violent direction action training, consensus, legals, police liaison, encrypted communication, security culture, movie nights, yoga/mindfulness, kombucha brewing, banner painting, knot-tying and more! The week will wrap up with a community day on the last Saturday.

If you have any skills or knowledge you’d like to share through a workshop please let us know!

If you’re short on time and can only come for part of the event, this is welcomed. We would recommend weekdays as the best days to come.
